Roatán · Bay Islands · Honduras
Family-run painting and drywall finishing for homes, villas and resorts across Roatán. Cayman-standard smooth walls and ceilings that hold up to island sun, salt air and humidity.
What we offer
One family crew from bare board to final coat. We prep, finish and paint every surface ourselves, so the result is consistent from the ceiling to the trim.
The smoothest wall finish there is, for rooms with big windows, cove lighting or glossy paint.
Clean lines, even coverage and low-odor paints for homes that stay lived in.
Coatings chosen for strong sun and salt air so color lasts longer between repaints.
The surfaces everyone notices once the lights come on.
Help picking colors and sheens that look right in island light, inside and out.
Patching and refreshing homes, rentals and resorts between seasons.
Our process
Every perfect wall starts as bare board, screws and seams. Here is what happens before the first coat of paint.
Every seam is taped and every screw head is spotted with compound.
Wider coats are feathered out over each seam until it sits flat with the board.
Sanded smooth, then a thin skim coat goes over the entire surface and is sanded again.
Drywall finish levels
Drywall finishing is graded on six levels from the Gypsum Association's GA-214 standard. Each level adds work at the seams. Level 5 adds a thin skim coat over the entire surface, so the whole wall takes paint and light the same way.
What the wall looks like
Choose a level to see the wall
Cut through the seam
Boards are screwed up. No tape, no compound.
Use: temporary walls
Cut through the seam
Tape is set in compound at the seams. Tool marks are fine.
Use: attics, above ceilings
Cut through the seam
One coat over the tape. Screw heads are spotted.
Use: garages, under tile
Cut through the seam
A second, wider coat on seams and screws.
Use: walls getting heavy texture
Cut through the seam
Three coats feathered wide and sanded smooth. Seams can still show under strong side light.
Use: most homes, flat or eggshell paint
Cut through the seam
Level 4, then a thin skim coat over the entire surface. Seams, screws and paper all disappear under one uniform face.
Use: big windows, cove lighting, dark or glossy paint
Why Level 5
When sunlight rakes across a wall from a big window, the taped seams and screw spots on a Level 4 wall can show through the paint. Painters call this flashing. A Level 5 skim coat removes it, which is the standard expected in high-end Caribbean villas.
Island conditions
Homes on Roatán range from concrete block villas to classic wood houses on stilts over the water. Humidity, salt air and hurricane season change how the work has to be done.
Mold and moisture resistant drywall near AC lines, bathrooms and exterior walls.
Primers and paints made to resist mildew in constant humidity.
Compound gets full drying time in the humidity before skimming and priming, so finishes don't crack or shrink.
Coatings rated for UV and salt air on block, render and wood siding.
Color ideas
Roatán homes wear every color, from bright Caribbean pastels to clean modern whites. Use these styles and palettes as a starting point, and we'll help you choose.
Coral, peach and sea blues that stay bright under strong sun.
Classic island blues and turquoise with crisp white trim, coated to handle salt spray and humidity.
Sun and salt fade color fast. A fresh coat brings it back and protects the walls underneath.
Material estimator
Enter each floor or room and get a raw count of sheets, screws, tape, mud and paint. It's a starting point for planning, not a quote.
Interior walls means the total length of inside walls on that floor. Both sides get drywall.
